Lothersdale School Association applied for a grant for some DT equipment for years 3, 4, 5 & 6 in January 2025.

'Write up below is from the teachers'

The KS2 children had a brilliant time creating their torches and steady hand games in their most recent DT unit of work. In our lower key stage 2 class, the children benefitted from having sufficient equipment to each create their own working torch. They were able to create their own circuits using cells, wires, a switch and a bulb. The children thoroughly enjoyed sharing their final products with other children in our celebration assembly.

Our upper key stage 2 children were tasked to create their very own steady hand game to develop fine motor skills in children aged between 5 and 11. Once designed, the children used the equipment to built their circuits which included wires, a cell, a buzzer and a switch as well as the wire game itself. The children had a fantastic time creating their games and due to having the equipment, were able to share their games with other children in school who game and played some of the completed games.
