The trustees of the Robert Windle Foundation would like to give a big thank you to everyone who has helped in anyway in making 2024 such a successful year.
We have given out over £18,000 worth of grants in the last 12 months to local schools and non-profit groups and clubs. If your school/group needs funds for a project, please see our website’s grants page for details.
We continue to look after our beautiful but fragile grade 2* listed building, “The Old Grammar School”. It is a very expensive building to maintain being over 400 years old, but I am sure you agree that it is worth looking after.
Our charity shop and café are popular with local people who enjoy our cakes in the café and bargains in the shop. All the staff are volunteers who do an amazing job, we can’t thank them enough for all their hard work.
While this year has been very successful and it feels great to be able to give so much back to the community we are always in need of extra help in the shop, café, garden and to do the day-to-day admin. If you would like to join our team then please get in touch, we are always pleased to have new people and new ideas. If you have any items to donate also please get in touch or bring them to the Grammar School at any time we are open.
At this moment we are also looking for someone to help with doing the rota for the shop and café volunteers, this would only take at most a couple of hours per week, this can be done at home. We are looking for, someone who is good at organising and planning, a good communicator and enjoys working with people.
If you want to know more please get in touch either through the website contact page or email us at robertwindlefoundation@outlook.com or just pop in on a Friday afternoon and ask to speak to Margaret Brown about any volunteering, donations or general enquiries.
